Chaff

A word belonging to the slang dictionary, but too frequently heard in the printing office, when one compositor teases another as regards his work, habits, disposition, &c. It is frequently a source of unpleasantness and bad feeling among otherwise agreeable companions; but it is essentially a bad practice, to which not gentleman is ever addicted.
