Tricolour-Crested Cockatoo

Plyctolophus Leadbeateri

An Australian cockatoo distinguished by a tricoloured crest of crimson, yellow, and white in long forward-curving feathers that erect like a fan, slightly exceeding the lesser Sulphur-crested species in size. The bill is pale greyish-white, the body white deeply tinged with crimson on neck, breast, and flanks, and the under wings rich crimson-red, while its particular habits in the wild remain unrecorded.
