Eterusia Tricolor, Erasmia Pulchella & Amesia Sanguiflua
- Eterusia Tricolor. A native of Assam expanding two inches and eight lines, with a dark violet head, black antennae, greenish anterior wings marked with white spots, and hind wings orange at the base passing through black to rich mazarine blue and violet, spotted with white. The thorax is velvet black tinged with violet and the abdomen orange with a violet basal segment; its true relations remain uncertain, the metamorphoses being unknown.
- Erasmia Pulchella. A lovely insect about three inches and two lines across, the prevailing colour silvery green, the anterior wings black adorned with green-blue silvery spots, an irregular red bar before the middle, and large white spots behind it. The posterior wings are straw-coloured with black base and apex and green-blue nervures, and it comes from Assam, the blue tints shifting to vivid green according to the light in which they are viewed.
- Amesia Sanguiflua. A singular moth expanding four inches and a quarter, with arched fore wings curiously curved at the apex, black with scattered yellow and white spots and red stripes along the nervures, the hind wings black to the middle then brilliant mazarine blue spotted with white. The head, thorax, and bipectinated antennae are bluish-black, the abdomen deep blue with white side spots; specimens come from Assam and near Serampore.
