Bifasciated Sun-Bird
Nectarinia bifasciata
An African species from the interior, its upper parts rich bronzed green approaching emerald on the lower back and rump, the shoulders showing a spotted contrast and the wings and tail nearly black glossed with green and purple. The chin is velvet-black changing to bronzed green, then a steel-blue band and a dull red band tipped with steel-blue, the entire length five inches and three-tenths, with no axillary tufts.
