Felis mitis

The Chati is a very beautiful and graceful diurnal cat, about a third larger than the domestic cat, rather more than two feet in body, with thick fur of pale yellowish above and pure white below, the body bearing four dorsal rows of black patches and fawn-centred spots ringed with black. Native to South America, it has a round pupil and a cry like the common cat’s, only harsher; the described individual was extremely gentle and delighted in being caressed.
