Musk Ox

Ovibos moschatus

Nearly the size of a small Highland bullock but shorter in the legs, the musk ox carries very broad horns covering the brow and meeting across the crown, with no naked muzzle and brown body hair so long on the sides as to hang below the legs, the throat and chest hair forming a beard. Inhabiting the barren lands of arctic America north of latitude sixty, it assembles in herds of thirty or forty and feeds on grass or lichens.
