Black-Chinned Goshaw

Aster monogrammicus

A stout African goshawk near a pigeon in size, heavier than the European sparrow-hawk, with thick tarsi indicating it preys on larger game, and a notably long second quill for swift powerful flight. A uniform light grey covers the upper parts and crosses the breast, the white chin bears a central black stripe, the rump shows a black bar, and the under parts are elegantly banded with grey-brown upon dusky white.
