Beautiful Plectropoma
Plectropoma puella
A beautifully marked little fish of about four or five inches found near Martinique, it has an olive ground crossed by six bands of violet black, the third central one very broad and followed by a narrow one. A blue line surrounds the orbit before the first band, three more cross the opercle to the breast, and another lies on the forehead, the fins tinted olive and yellow, the pectorals sometimes a delicate rose.
