Azur-Crowned Humming-Bird

Trochilus quadricolor

Nearly four inches long and brought only from Brasil, this beautiful species differs in form from its allies and may yet found a subdivision of its own. A cowl of brilliant blue covers the crown to the occiput, the upper parts are bright golden green, the underparts a chaste clear white, and the straight yellow bill is tipped with black.
