Douc or Cochin-China Monkey

Lasiopygia nemea

A native of Cochin-China and exceedingly rare in Europe, this beautifully but variously marked species stands about two feet high. Its principal characteristics are the great proportional length of the upper extremities and the absence of callosities upon the hips, though little or nothing is known of its form, structure, or habits.
