Bedouin Greyhound of Akaba

The Arabian or Bedouin greyhound is a large, fierce, and greatly valued race, not perfectly pure, used by wandering tribes to course antelopes and to guard tents and cattle, with strong jaws and a rufous or white-and-tan coat. The variety about Akaba is smaller, with a long, very hairy, brush-like tail and erect pointed ears, closely recalling the ancient Egyptian effigies.
