Iconographic Encyclopædia

Abstract

Explanation

Three basic metrics can be used to quantitatively compare the subjects of Iconographic Encylopædia, which are represented in the shapes above:

Squares: The number of plates in each subject
Dots: One dot for every 10 figure references
Lines: 3,000 words per line

Each shape or set of shapes is proportionately sized based on how many there are in each subject. Their positions are randomly generated each time page loads or the generate button is pressed so no two are ever the same, resulting in playful abstract representations of the entire contents of the encyclopedia.
