Blue-Throated Humming-Bird
Trochilus lucifer
A native of Mexico and a bird of very slender form, with bright yellowish-green upper parts and nearly pure white below, tinged greenish on the flanks, the throat and fore neck clothed in lengthened plumes of bluish-violet that assume pink or ultramarine tints with the light. The tail is deeply forked, its outer feathers narrowing towards the tips, and the bill is somewhat curved; the female has not yet been described.
