Dusky Wolf

Lupus nubilus

The dusky wolf inhabits latitudes north of the Canadas, presenting the counterpart to the Russian black mountain variety and approaching nearer to dogs. Its colour is a greyish black partially tinged with brown, and it is reckoned identical with the Mexican caygotte, forming one of three ancient and permanent races shared between the two continents.
