As to Bodoni’s specimen-books…the inscriptions in exotic types…printed to commemorate the baptism of the Prince of Parma, may be considered his first attempt to display his exotic characters. It is an interesting book—of 50 pages, quarto—and shows twenty of Bodoni’s “learned” fonts.
